PDO COG THREADS
The “No Blade Facelift” is the new trend made popular by numerous celebrities recently and it is an excellent and effective non-surgical technique to lift and tighten skin. PDO COG threads have the potential to re-define facial contours and induces collagen production. The treatment forms part of an integrated support structure for the tissue of the face by encouraging natural collagen synthesis with immediate results that peak at 6 months and last between 2-3 years.
Treatments areas will include the cheeks and jawline. The barbed threads improve facial appearance by immediately lifting & tightening. PDO Threads can be used in isolation as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with other treatments. There is NO known interaction between Hyaluronic Acid and Polydioxonone (PDO).

How does it work?
During the procedure, the ‘threads’ are inserted under the surface of the skin into the sub-dermis. These tiny threads, which have tiny barbs, anchor to the skin, keeping it in place as the threads are lifted, to create a smoother and tighter appearance. Made from PDO (Polydioxanone), the threads also stimulate a collagen production response over time to add further firmness. Lifting and tightening your face gives the skin back its strength and elasticity and provides you with a noticeably younger-looking appearance.

aftercare
It’s completely normal to feel twitches, pulls & sensitivity for several weeks and this area is also particularly susceptible to bruising, (uneven) swelling, tenderness and soreness as it’s a vascular area & this particular treatment requires multiple injection sites. The threads/cogs are also often ‘visible’ for many weeks during the embedding in stage & during the downtime the descent can often be asymmetrical as different sides of the body will heal/recover at different rates. An exaggerated lift is often seen initially and a natural descent of the lift very soon thereafter (often asymmetrical) due to the skins natural elasticity. Any lift will then gain an extra boost through a biological lift at approx 6-8 weeks as collagen is synthesised
